With her bold brushstrokes and vibrant palette, Trudy Montgomery’s work brings to mind artists such as Albert Irvin, R.A., O.B.E. Trudy’s work has been exhibited internationally and viewers can sense the influence of the light and space of California where the artist lived for 14 years. [Her work is] energetic, fresh and full of vitality.

Time Travel : from California to Bath to Washington DC

I discovered the artwork of Trudy Montgomery by falling in love with a painting I saw in a dining room photo on Houzz. The painting was tagged as being provided by an art gallery on the west coast. I called that gallery and was given Trudy's email address. Trudy actually lives in Europe and the painting I fell in love with was currently available for sale and hanging in a hotel in Bath, UK. What a unique situation. Trudy was genuinely touched that I had tracked her down from Washington, DC where we currently reside. I was equally touched to have her send me this 'work of art' that I will cherish always. If you look at her website, our painting is 'Time Travel' and is even more stunning than my first view of it on Houzz.

Trudy went out of her way to help us achieve the look we wanted in our new kitchen. We had been looking for a bright colourful picture for a long time and knew that one of Trudy's pictures would be perfect as soon as we saw it in a local exhibition. All our dealings with Trudy were good fun, remarkably straightforward, in good time and we do feel she went out of her way to help us. Thank you so much.

I furnished a high-end rental condo with art from Trudy Montgomery. I've continued to get compliments about it and the ease of working with Trudy, including logistics for delivery, made it a win-win for me and the guests.

"Trudy Montgomery is one of the next generation of artists in Cornwall whose work is part of a direct line of British expressionist painting which has its roots in the ground-breaking abstraction of artists such as Patrick Heron and Peter Lanyon.

The sheer size of canvas and strength of colour in Trudy’s works make for deliciously emotive viewing, and hints of landscape in these otherwise highly abstracted paintings make her exhibitions akin to an intensely joyful, semi-spiritual walk through the more beautiful parts of your own imagination. Having exhibited to acclaim in London, Dubai, Los Angeles and Berlin, her career is surely one to watch for those with a passion for the ongoing history of Cornish painting, and serious collectors of abstract art."

"We first saw Trudy's painting at an exhibition and fell in love with 3 large paintings. Trudy immediately understood our needs and was warm and professional throughout. They are now hanging in our converted barn in Somerset and add colour, depth and vibrancy to our busy home. They are loved and admired constantly and we are thrilled to have found them and to have worked with Trudy."

Trudy recently sold a painting to an interiors client at Coppice Guild. The wonderful splash of life and colour is the finishing touch to the room. Her professionalism, attention to detail and courtesy are second to none. I am now looking forward to commissioning a large piece in the near future.
