Inspired by nautical scenes in and around Newlyn, Hooked gives a nod to the lines, anchors, and other marine hardware used by fishermen, RNLI volunteers and seafarers along the Cornish coastline. It will be exhibited at Penwith Gallery in St Ives this July/August in the Associates Summer Exhibition.
August is Meditation Month at the Gurnard’s Head! I am delighted to have been invited to exhibit prints of my Meditation paintings in the gourmet restaurant and inn near Zennor in Cornwall.
Arising out of my artist residency in New Delhi, and subsequent visits to India, the Meditation paintings depict pristine landscapes with clear depths. Gradations of tonal colour relate to layers of consciousness and a richness of palette evokes a pleasing harmony. These colourful yet quiet paintings bring a sense of peace and purity.
