Album Cover Art

Paintings usually hang on walls. But once a digital image is created it can be created into a limited edition print, or even be licensed to exist in the digital world.

So it feels rather strange - and a little bit exciting! - to see one of my paintings on Spotify and other digital music streaming platforms.

So huge congratulations and thanks to singer-songwriter Sasha Yates for choosing my painting Nica Abstract I for the cover art for her debut single, The Moment That We Met.

Trudy Montgomery’s abstract painting has been selected as album cover art for Sasha Yates’ new song, The Moment That We Met

I met Sasha in Nicaragua and we instantly connected, comparing notes (🎵 pun intended) on how the creative process differs across writing music and painting. (Answer: somewhat but not as much as you might think.)

Sasha was looking for artwork for her new album and wanted a painting to capture the wistful yearnings of the heart which characterise her soulful song lyrics. Sasha chose my painting Nica Abstract 1 for the cover artwork for her first single - and another for her upcoming EP Album - to be released soon.

The original painting selected is Nica Abstract I

You can have a listen to the song on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube (see below) and other platforms
