Becoming

A powerful vertical abstract painting from the Union series, in which a wide angle U or V motif or gesture I felt compelled to include and which represents the womb or feminine principle is balanced with a strong vertical representing the masculine principle. A horizon line further holds the composition within the landscape.

Becoming is such a painting and references the transformation process that I was feeling at the time. The palette is aquamarine blue and turquoise held with white, raw umber and a deep red.
